How claiming works

What OG1 collects

A record holds professional facts: name, job title, sport, organization, and the public staff-directory address the organization publishes. Nothing private, nothing the person wrote.

Where it comes from

Public sources: athletics staff directories, conference results, and press releases. A record made this way can be out of date. Nothing on it was added by the coach.

What claiming means

Claiming a record gives you control of the page: what it says, what it shows, and who can reach you. It stays yours through job changes.

Claiming is not verifying. Taking control of a page does not confirm your role with any organization. Those are two separate facts and OG1 shows them separately: an organization confirms an affiliation, and only then does the record carry that mark.

How a correction works

Anyone can report a wrong field. No account is needed. Name the field, give the correct value, and link a source if you have one. OG1 staff review the request. A correction a person applies stays, even after the next import: the value holds until a human changes it again.

How a removal works

Anyone can ask. OG1 sends one confirmation email to the address on the form, and the request opens only when that link is used. The link proves the sender can read that inbox; it gives no authority over the record, so a person reviews every removal before anything comes down.

When a removal is granted, the page is unpublished, de-indexing is requested, and OG1 will not list you again from a future import. You can ask to be listed again.

Settings after claiming

A claimed record carries its own controls: publish the page or keep it to yourself, allow or refuse search-engine indexing, choose what contact details show and to whom, and mute email. Sign-in, security and legal notices still arrive.
