Jackson Berger is a football coach currently serving as an Assistant Linebackers Coach and JV Defensive Coordinator at JSerra Catholic High School in the Trinity League. His coaching philosophy is built around preparation, accountability, attention to detail, and developing players both on and off the field.

Berger began his coaching career at Palos Verdes High School, where he spent two seasons working with the varsity linebackers and one season as JV Defensive Coordinator. During his time at Palos Verdes, the program captured the 2024 CIF Division 2-A State Championship and returned to the CIF Southern Section Division 3 Championship Game in 2025.

In 2026, Berger joined the new, highly touted, NFL-rich staff at JSerra, taking the next step in his coaching career by entering one of the most competitive high school football environments in the country. His current responsibilities include linebacker development, defensive game planning, opponent scouting and film breakdown, tendency analysis, situational preparation, and coordinating the JV defense.

Berger believes great coaching starts with relationships and trust but is sustained through high standards and consistent preparation. His approach emphasizes teaching players the “why” behind their assignments, developing football IQ, playing with discipline and physicality, and preparing athletes to recognize and solve problems on the field rather than simply memorize calls.
As a young coach, Berger is committed to continually developing his knowledge of defensive football, learning from experienced coaches, and taking on responsibilities that contribute to the success of the entire program. His long-term goal is to continue progressing through the coaching profession while positively impacting the players and programs he has the opportunity to serve.
