• The 2011 American Football Coaches Association FCS Assistant Coach of the Year, Jason McEndoo spent 12 seasons as an assistant coach at Montana State prior to coming to Oklahoma State in February of 2015.

• At Oklahoma State, McEndoo coached the Cowboy Backs - a flexible tight end/fullback hybrid position through 2022. OSU’s offense switched back to more traditional fullback and tight end roles in 2023, with McEndoo coaching both postitions.

• Oklahoma State has won 10 games in five of McEndoo’s nine seasons in Stillwater.

• Academic success has been a hallmark of McEndoo’s players, as he’s coached dozens of Academic All-Big 12
selections during his time in Stillwater. In 2017, McEndoo coached Britton Abbott to a spot on the CoSIDA Academic All-America team, and in 2020 and 2021 he coached Logan Carter to William V. Campbell Trophy semifinalist recognition.

• Thanks in part to work done by McEndoo’s players, Oklahoma State increased its yearly rushing total in six of his first seven seasons in Stillwater. In 2015, the Cowboys averaged 3.58 yards per rush and 126.85 yards per game. That improved to 4.53 yards per rush and 171.00 yards per game in 2016 and then to 4.63 yards per rush and 179.77 yards per game in 2017. OSU averaged 4.78 yards per rush and 190.31 yards per game in 2018, then in 2019 averaged 5.31 yards per rush and 229.6 yards per game before offensive injuries slowed the upward trend in 2020. OSU improved again the following year in 2021.

• In 2023, tight end Josiah Johnson played on important role on the offense after transfering in from UMass, earning 12 starts in his lone year in Stillwater. Fullback Braden Cassity also played a valuable role in the offense, and they both earned honorable mention all-conference honors.

• In 2022, Braden Cassity was voted a season team captain by his teammates and Jake Schultz earned All-Big 12 honorable mention honors.

• Logan Carter and Braden Cassity both earned 2021 honorable mention All-Big 12 honors under McEndoo’s guidance.

• In 2020, McEndoo coached both Logan Carter and Jelani Woods to honorable mention All-Big 12 honors, as they combined to catch 16 passes for 213 yards and two touchdowns while also playing a key role as blockers in the OSU running game.

• The 2019 Cowboy Backs helped pave the way for Chuba Hubbard to lead the FBS with 2,094 rushing yards and earn All-America and Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year status. The Cowboys of 2019 averaged 229.6 rushing yards per game - OSU’s best mark since 2008. OSU ranked in the top 25 nationally in rushing offense, total offense and red zone offense.

• In 2018, McEndoo’s Cowboy Backs factored into the OSU offense ranking in the top 15 nationally in scoring offense, total offense, passing offense and first downs. Additionally, the Cowboys ranked second in the Big 12 in rushing offense (190.3 yards per game), rushing touchdowns (30) and rushing yards per carry (4.8). The rushing yards per game and rushing yards per attempt numbers are the best for an OSU team since 2012. OSU had four games with 200 or more yards rushing and led the Big 12 with 28 rushing touchdowns that were scored from within the red zone.

• The Cowboy Backs helped pave the way for one of the best team rushing performances of the Mike Gundy era (2005-present), when they assisted in a 431-yard rushing day for the Pokes in the 2018 opener against Missouri State.

• In addition to their work in the run game, McEndoo’s Cowboy Backs combined to catch four touchdown passes in 2018.

• In 2017, McEndoo’s Cowboy Backs helped Oklahoma State become the first offense in Big 12 history with a 4,000-yard passer (Mason Rudolph), two 1,000-yard receivers (James Washington and Marcell Ateman) and a 1,000-yard rusher (Justice Hill).

• The Cowboys of 2017 led the nation in passing offense, ranked second nationally in total offense and first downs, ranked third nationally in pass efficiency and ranked fourth nationally in scoring offense.

• In addition to their blocking work, the Cowboy Backs combined to catch 30 passes for 449 yards and three touchdowns in 2016.

• Coached directly by McEndoo, Blake Jarwin earned first-team All-Big 12 honors for the first time in his career in 2015 and then was a second-team All-Big 12 honoree in 2016 before moving on to the NFL and beginning a successful career with the Dallas Cowboys.

• McEndoo helped coach Montana State to five Big Sky Conference championships during his time in Bozeman.

• In 2014, Montana State ranked seventh among all FCS schools with 244.4 rushing yards per game, was ninth in the FCS with 488.6 yards of total offense per game and was 11th in the FCS with 38.2 points per game.

• McEndoo coached seven Bobcat All-Americans and 11 first team All-Big Sky selections, including Jeff Bolton, an All-America center who earned the 2005 Rimington Award as Division I-AA’s top player at that position.

• He also
